First time to Sri Lanka for 3 Weeks. A friend has suggested briefly the following places:

Galle Fort, Unawatuna, Weligama, Marissa Beach, Matara and Madiha.

We like culture, rides out to wildlife and tea plantations etc and especially beautiful beaches.

How would you do the above, starting where and times spent at them. We are interested to hear other views.

Thank you in advance.

All the places you have mentioned are on the SW coast, far from tea plantations and wildlife. One could cover all those from one hotel, probably at Unawatuna or Weligama. For Wildlife, you need overnight stays near Uda Walawe or Yala. For tea plantations, you need to be in Ella or Nuwara Eliya, in the mountains For cultural sights you need a location close to them, near Sigiriya/Dambulla area. With three weeks you can comfortably cover all, but you need a circular route that covers all these areas and end up on the coast where you will relax on a beach location.

Very much so. Book on e.g. Expedia/Bookingcom/AirBnB, and either use public transport or car/driver. See top questions for PT and for private transport for all details there (and top question on accommodation for booking that).

All these mentioned places are in southern area of the country and You'll need to get inland to visit Tea Plantations, Cultural sites and Wild life parks. As said better to plan a round tour which covers all these attractions with some beach time.

All these places are in the SW coast which is mainly for relaxation, If you really wanna explore the beautiful island here is the best route

Sigiriya (Ancient City)

Kandy (Cultural Triangle)

Nuwara Eliya / Ella (Central Hill Stations)

Yala (Wild Life)

then the SW coasts which your friend recommended

:)
