KLIA Ekspres & KLIA Transit (Any Significant Difference?)

Hi!

I have canvassed that the direct trip from KLIA2 - KL Sentral costs 55 RM (which is a little bit too much if you are on a budget and alone).

However as I was looking at the timetables and fares, if I arrive at Salak Tinggi station from KLIA2, it will cost RM4.9. If I take the train again from Salak Tinggi to KL Sentral, it will cost RM18.3 which will make the total fare only RM23.2 from KLIA2 to KL Sentral via Salak Tinggi. Is this a good idea to lower the cost? Are the trains frequent? Will this connecting train trip be more time efficient than taking a cheaper RM10 bus? Or is it just better to take the bus for time and cost efficiency?

I'll arrive at 10:35 in the morning.

Cheers!

Dude, if your budget is so tight, just save yourself the aggravation and time and just take the RM10 bus.

Good luck on your RM15-20 per day budget on food as well.

Just take the bus. The split train journey costs more and doesn't save you any time (total 33 mins on the trains + waiting 20-30 mins for the next train, vs 1 hour by bus).

《《《 Good luck on your RM15-20 per day budget on food as well. 》》》

Possible..

For every meal just order 3 pcs of plain roti canai with self provided drinking water (some backpacker hostels have free drinking water for tenants to top up)...

Breakfast , lunch , dinner...

Buy some biscuits from supermarket , to munch in between meals...

But that budget is too tough on my tummy LOL..

Gd luck on that food budget...

Your budget is very very tight, unless you intend to survive on biscuits and water most of the time. A cheap breakfast is now RM6 compared to the RM4 last year. 15 ringgit a day on food is a frugal doable.

I'm glad, you remembered that I'm the one who posted a question about limiting my travel costs. Don't worry, I have enough allocation and I followed what most of you advised which is to move my travel dates to earn more (I was supposed to do it in August or September but I moved it in October). Rest assured that my budget will be fine. Even though I have allocated well which I properly canvassed to cover all my needs and wants, I will still limit my expenditures as much as possible if spending an extra is not needed and advantageous.Thank you very much for your concern! Cheers!

As much as possible , allocate 50RM for your meals ..

There are days when i'm having meals at coffeeshops & i don't spend that much..

Even an upsized MacDonald's meal & a Large Iced Mocha at Starbucks is pretty close to busting 50RM..

Come with at least 150% of what u budgetted for , to be on the safe side..

Cheers & Enjoy
