Cost of school

Does anyone know how much it cost to sponsor a kid to go to school in Nha Trang. I am trying to help a kid in 9th or 10th grade attend school.

Thanks

Is this privately or via a charity? When I made enquiries through a charity (a couple of years ago) the suggested minimum was $20 a month. That was for meeting the child's living expenses and schooling. One thing to remember is you will not be the only one sponsoring the child if going through a charity.

Hi Kathy,

A person will write a test and if their marks are good enough they can enter the public system for about 300000 dong a month. If they do poorly, they will be required to enter a private school for about 500000 dong a month.

Those are the school fees only.

Books and a place to live are extra. A homestay that most students live in is about 500000 a month. Often 2-4 students will share the small room to reduce the cost.
