Just wondering if anyone knows if you can get a shower in Hanoi airport and/or if you can buy a business lounge pass ?
The Vietnam Airlines lounge does have showers. I don't know if you can buy passes though.
There's no mention on the website of people other than VN Airlines business travellers and a couple of other select categories being able to use the lounge:
I guess it wouldn't hurt to email to ask though. I do know that economy-class passengers used to be able to pay to use the lounge at Danang, but I have read that's no longer possible, so perhaps the same applies at Noi Bai.
Edit: oops, that link hasn't worked - you could try copying and pasting it in your browser bar.Edited: 11 August 2012, 23:13
Nah no buy ins with Viet Airlines - I tried and even attempted to bribe my way in. Those ladies running it were non corruptible. I figured it would be so much better staying in there than 5hrs in the general area. Unfortunately it was not to be. :(
I was there a year ago and had this experience. In the terminal near the stairs is a book/newspaper stand. They were selling coupons for the Business Lounge. The price wasn't posted. When I asked, the girl escorted me up to the lounge on the second floor where she had a conversation with the girl at the desk. They agreed to split 500,000 VND and permit me to lounge around. Certainly it makes it easier if they don't know that you know what they are saying. Finally agreed on 250,000 VND. Hardly anyone was in the lounge. I don't recall if there were any showers. Certainly much nicer than sitting on the hard seats in the terminal. Problem is they tend not to update the monitor so you don't know if they have changed the gate or have started boarding while you are waiting in the lounge.Edited: 12 August 2012, 02:51
