Tourist VISA for USA travel to Vietnam?

I have read that I need a visa to travel to Vietnam. Would you please tell me the easiest way to do this ahead of time so I avoid all problems? Also, do you know of a reliable site online to accomplish this that is not a scam? Thank you.

Look at FAQ - Visa on Arrival (VOA)

The websites issue has been raised many times. Do a TA forums search and you'll find suggestions.

E-Visa is much more convenient, and you're dealing directly with the authority that issues it.

I use www.visa4vietnam.com - 10 years and excellent service (100% PRIVATE) - some others will mix strangers on their Approval Letters and your passport number then is shown to the world!

Find the Vietnam E visa site via google or US State Department and apply for an E visa directly online. Takes a few days and super easy.

On the Vietnam Embassy site, they say that the photo has to be identical to the one on the passport and taken within the past year. My passport was issued in 2016, and I THINK I have a duplicate photo, but it will not have been taken within the past year. I'm very confused and could use some advice! TIA.

Do you have a link for that?

E-Visa doesn't require that and I have never used an identical photo for either 'real' visas or pre-approved 'VOA' letters...

The link I just sent doesn't have that language. The form (which I am looking for) does.

At the bottom:

Maybe I'm misunderstanding which photo they're referencing?

You are. They mean "passport type", not "identical to your passport photo".

The Vietnamese version just says "must meet ICAO standard". The French and German versions don't mention ICAO or passport...

Just a photo that would be acceptable in a passport is all the want. (And they're pretty lenient on that.)
