Option 2: I took a VIP bus once about 500 Baht / person from Chiangmai to Bangkok in Dec 2005. We departed at 21:00 and arrive at Bangkok around 5:30am. There’s toilet, chair with 4 massage options, tivi, blanket, snacks (too much, can’t finish them), water. The hostess was very polite and smiling. She wai us when we got on and off the bus. The bus was very clean. Good air con. What I don’t like is even though there was an extension for my legs and the seat was quite spacious, my body was not straight on a flat surface, and I couldn’t sleep well.
Option 3: You can take a fast train. I forgot the fare.
departs Chiangmai 21:00, arrives BKK 09:10
Or 08:45 – 20:25
Or 16:30 – 06:40
I think they canceled the one starting from Chiangmai at 21:50
I forgot to say that the whole Chiangmai is now covered by smoke. People burn garbage and forest. The town is at a lower position like a pan shape so smoke can't go away.
When we were young, we went to Chiangmai to breathe oxygen. Not now.
