Hi all, we are coming to Patong in 2 weeks time, our first time in Thailand.

I've been looking at the weather and looks like torrential rain everyday, is this the case or is the sun peeping through?

I knew it was a bit risky booking in July but was hoping it would be a mixture of sun and rain.

Can anyone tell me how it is right now

We are staying in Karon :)

There is some bad weather around but it is supposedly clearing by Wednesday, was some huge winds and rain that destroyed Sabai Beach Restaurant, one of our favourite places for 20 years. They are now closed for good and were going to close at the end of this month due to the land being sold to developers so due to the storm it is a bit earlier, but the family will be reopening up on 50yr road eventually. The big sails in the open area of Jungceylon were also destroyed.

No one can say what it will be like in 2 weeks , whatever , nothing in the world you can do

about it so if the weather isn't good then look at activities , or , take time out to relax , a nice massage or spa time , swim in the pool ( you get wet just the same ) or try 'singing in the rain' :)

Seriously , you can't change it but you can still fin things to do and things to enjoy , in Patong you have Jungceylon Mall , you have the restaurants and bars

Some tips for rainy day activities , there are lots more but a start

It’s rainy season in Thailand. It’s been storming the past few days with torrrential rain.

Bring a rain coat or poncho.

Sometimes it rains all day, sometimes it’s just a downpour. It’s always warm.

Plenty to do even when it rains. You can’t change it so just go and enjoy it.
