In or near Pattaya:

Sanctuary of Truth, Viharn Sian, Flight of the Gibbon, Pattaya Water Park. Don't swim off the town beaches as the water's not too clean, head for Wongamart or Jomtien beaches.

Shopping is better in Bangkok - go to the Bangkok forum and look through the Top Question on the right side of the page.

bbtony is correct especially Flight of the Gibbon but that one depends on how fit you are, you could also consider Nong Nooch for half day trip.

For shopping its got to be Central Festive complex on the beach road, numerious floors of shop, restuarnts and a branch of Central Department store. There are plenty of local markets and the beach road is lined with stores selling the usual tourist tat.

Try the things to do section on this forum for more choice.

Mini Siam/mini Europe. Ripleys believe it or not. Million years Stone Park, Sanctuary of truth, Noon Nooch village.

Thats all we managed in 2 + days.

Going back hopefully next year to see more.

Cheers. Danuta.
