Alot is made of hotel rooms, food and location.

Obviously this is important in choosing a hotel, but what about the Swimming Pool?

This is a good place to hang out after a hot and tiring adventurous trip into town, or to stretch weary muscles after a long flight.

We invite you to offer your best Bangkok swimming pool recommendations and why.

Looking forward to hearing about them.

Pullman King Power - Nice big infinity pool with see through walls on one side.

Sheraton Grand Sukhumvit - Its design to look and feel like swimming through a tropical garden

Millenium Hilton - Overlooks the Chap Phraya river from a higher floor. Even has sand.

Shangri La. It's alongside the river, newly constructed, has water beds, is large, clean, plenty of sunbeds and attendants.

I love the pool at the Bankok Marriott Resort. It really has a great resort feel with the bar in the pool, it is really relaxing after a long day sight seeing in Bangkok, you don't even notice that you are in the middle of the city.

For exercise swimming I used to go to Trinity Complex, a high rise building on Silom soi 5. The pool, tennis court and running track is on floor 9. For Bangkok it's expensive, about 250 baht. Towels included.

Another fairly good pool is Grand Tower Inn at Thong Lor. 1000 baht for 10 entries. Mostly Japanese and Korean business people, some with rather revolting spitting habits.

There are many "public" pools in Bangkok, including Ekkamai and Lumpini Park. But public doesn't mean foreign visitors - they keep us out of those places by requiring that you take a one year membership. To get that you have to take them a doctor's certificate and your passport.
