Civil Unrest?

Hi,

We're heading to Thailand in November and we've just come upon a travel advisory for the southern provinces due to civil unrest and needless to say we plan to avoid getting close to these areas.

To that end, we're also considering going to Krabi for the beach time section of our trip and although it looks very safe I'd just like to double check that it's far enough away.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Jay

Unless you go to the 3 most southern provinces you will have nothing to worry about when it comes to civil unrest.

Krabi is a safe province in Thailand, so as long as you don’t drink too much and act stupid you will have a great vacation.

Even those 3 provinces are not really that dangerous, statistically.

I agree NBRT. Songkhla is considered not safe but been there many times.

Agreed that you would be very unlikely to meet with any trouble.

But, at least for UK citizens, as there is a Foreign Office warning about travel to the three southern provinces this could invalidate any travel insurance should a claim arise whilst there. Insurance companies these days don't need much of an excuse to wriggle out of liability.
