Transit Visa fee in Kathmandu

I recall back in the day there was a $5 fee,

now all I have is a barcode printed off their site.

Anyone have RECENT first hand experience what I should do when I land?

Appreciate all help in advance.

It's still USD5 for the 24 hour transit visa.

No experience of transiting though.

Hello,

Welcome to TripAdvisor forum for Nepal!

I never needed to apply for a transit visa and do not have any experience with it but I suppose the process is same for transit and tourist visa. Just apply for visa online, print the submission details with barcode and pay the visa fee next to immigration counter in Nepal, go to Immigration counter and get your passport stamped

Good Luck!

Thank you guys, really do appreciate the help!

Anyone with transit visa information? Do I need a photo ? Do I have to leave to go landside?

Hi

Neither the oline or paper application forms for a transit visa ask for a photo, weirdly.

The point of a transit visa is to allow you to go landside. If you do not need or want to go landside because you are in transit for a short time, just a few hours, is a transit visa needed?
