Internet in Kathmandu?

I'm excited to be visiting Nepal for the first time two weeks from now. While I'm there I will need to email a 10mb file from my laptop. I understand due to the power rationing and general lack of internet that this may be difficult. Any suggestions on where I can find a suitable internet connection in Kathmandu? (Remember has to be sent from my laptop not from an internet cafe computer.)

Few hotspot places are available in Kathmandu but you will find them rarely. The internet connection might not be like in your home country. Internet in Nepal is very slow and to upload 10MB file you will need at least 20 - 30 minutes or more.

Few internet cafes also provide connection on your laptop too. Most of the tourist hotels have wi-fi connection and few restaurants offers wi-fi too. The problem will be to upload the file not the internet connection.

The best internet i found was in Ram's internet cafe, or theres a new one (im not sure i has a name) which is inside a new complex near all the supermarkets in Thamel. Sorry i can't give you street names, etc they dont erally exist over there!

Internet is very slow, and in my experience at a few cafes it disconnected often. Be prepared to take more time to use the internet compared to what you are used to, and be prepared for interruptions with the service.

I agree that the internet connection is very slow so I couldn’t imagine sending a 10mb file. I used the internet at my hotel which I pay for, and the internet from a nearby cafe (for free) and both of them were equally slow. But at least there was internet!
