Hi, applying for OCI for my mother who was born in India. What do I put for the question "Relationship to root of Indian"? Options given is mother, father grand mother. Grand father etc
I would suggest whoever you have the strongest supporting paperwork for (if you have any) in addition to your mother's own supporting documents, if born in India she automatically qualifies, but over here they frequently ask for details of father or mother.
I find when applying for anything in India more is always better, if they don't require it, they will just ignore it

If you are indian citizen and born in India and your son is US born citizen then you can use 'FATHER' as roots to India.
