Reunion/Mauritius transfers

I want to go to Mauritius and Reunion flying from Perth. Just wondering what is the best way to do this? If I go to Mauritius first, can I fly to Reunion or is there a boat? I am thinking 1 week in each island. Is this a good amount of time? I am looking at September, but I am flexible with time.

You can fly to Reunion from Mauritius, but there are also boats (see http://www.mauritiusshipping.intnet.mu) a few times a week. Personally I found the extra hassle of the boat not worth the price difference with the flight.

A week on each sounds right, although it depends where your interests lie. Mauritius is more a beach destination, Reunion is more a mountain and outdoors destination.

September is a good time of year weather-wise.

Please note that there are two airports on Reunion to which it is possible to fly to from Maurice, Most people would fly to the International Airport at St Denis in the North of Reunion, but both Air Austral and Air Mauritius also have daily flights to St Pierre in the South of the Island
