Driving in Mauritius

Hi,

I am planning to visit Mauritius with my family on the first week of January, 2019 & have been thinking about renting a self drive car while staying in the island. Is it a good choice? Also, is Indian driving license valid to drive in the Island Paradise?

We have no problem driving in Mauritius as they also drive on the left like in South Africa. Driving standards aren't always very good but we've never had problems. Roads are narrow once you leave the highways. If you are on a laptop or PC you'll see the subject covered in the "Top Questions" section on the right of this page. If not, click on these links.

I think your Indian license should be valid so long as it has photo ID on it.
