There are no sand fleas in Hawaii

Right? I have two references from the net, niether mentions Hawaii.

Sand flea belongs to the family Orchestiidae, order Amphipoda. It is not an insect but and amphipod - (crustacean). The common sand flea (Orchestia agilis) is found on the Atlantic coast of the Americas and Europe.

The sand flea (Tunga penetrans) produces a unique

clinical lesion in humans. It is found in Central and

South America, equatorial Africa, and the southern

United States.

BoeingDad: Well, I don't know what their scientific name may be, but I find that no matter which island I'm on, if I sit on the beach long enough, my legs will look like I had small pox or something. I've found that the more sunscreen I apply, the less I get the "bites", though. Go figgah...

there may not be any sand fleas or flies (florida's are god awful)

but I sure had a time with RED ANTS bites

Even had to see a Doc for it OU EEEE.

AND the worse I insist are Centipedes.

My friend was hospitalized do to bites on her shin

auwe the Swelling Huge.

if you see one kill it good and dead.
