The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

The island of Oahu in Honolulu County

* Until 715 AM HST.

* At 359 AM HST, radar indicated heavy rain over the Koolau Mountains. Rain was falling at a rate of up to two inches per hour. Local stream gauges continue to show elevated water levels.

* Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to...

Honolulu, Ahuimanu, Hauula, Kailua, Manoa, Maunawili, Kaneohe, Kalihi, Waikane, and Waiahole.

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 715 AM HST if heavy rain persists.
