One night in Guatemala

We're going to need accommodations for two couples for one night only before our departing flight in January, 2018.

Any suggestions for a reasonable hotel or inn (no more than $50/night) that's got comfy beds? We are going to be coming off an activity-packed 11-days of traveling and will want a clean comfy bed to crash in, and a nearby restaurant option with good food.

Thanks for any help you can give!

If you just want a hotel close to the airport I can recommend Dos Lunas. You can eat there for $7-8. Or get street food. Or have food delivered. Los Volcanes is often recommended on this forum as well.

If you want to go to a restaurant consider Zona 10 or Zona 1. I can't help with Zona 10. In Zona 1 we stayed at Hotel Colonial. The hotel was basic but clean. It is close to the Sexta Avenida and once you reach that street it is about 6 blocks to the central plaza. During the day not a problem to walk. At night we walked it as well but you can always take a taxi.

Close to Hotel Colonial is Hotel Ajau, it looked nice. We heard fellow travelers mention Hotel Sevilla, an okay and clean hotel, close to the central plaza.

We liked the main plaza, the national palace, the cathedral, the market behind the cathedral and the Sexta Avenida.
