San Gabriel Hilton on Valley is clean; it has a couple of service related issues so I would not pay more than $130.00 per night. Sometimes their rate is that low; sometimes not (they seem to adjust their prices a lot.). If they drive, the Rosemead Doubletree is nice - large rooms with couches, microwaves, refrigerators, king bed. The rooms are clean; the only thing I don't like about it is that yhou can't adjust the air conditioning much. You can however open the windows and it is close to the Montebello Shopping Mall. Other one would be in Pasadena and would be the Pasadena Best Westerns - clean, reasonably priced stays with continental breakfast. Generally the lowest price of these 3 and is about $70.00 - $80.00 a night. Some slight road noise from freeway but their stay is nice. None are directly in Alhambra area (not sure if you're closer to the Mission side or to the LA side), but all 3 if they have a car would be reasonable drive to Alhambra.
