Hey guys I will be in Washington DC in Late July for a conference. Will be flying in the Saturday before and am wondering if there are any good tours on Sundays?
Tours of what? The Capitol Buildng is closed
Wondering if any of the typical places one would visit in DC are open on Sunday, such as any of the museums or memorials? Already planning a trip to the Capitol through my congressman. Also anyone know what you have to do to try to go on a house White House Tour?
Of course museums are open on Sunday, they are in every city, that's when a lot of people can go. The Memorials are outside in the open air, they can't close.
kYou have to ask your Congressman about a white house tour appointment.
The museums are open on Sundays and many of them offer free, docent-led tours. See the websites of the individual museums for details. The Library of Congress also offers free tours daily.
For the details on White House tours, which must be requested through the office of your US Representative or Senator, see:
Thanks everyone, very helpful
No tours that you need a guide for.
Enjoy your conference visit and take in the Mall, museums, and dining opportunities.
Also suggest a HO/HO experience.
May I ask what that is?
Maybe something related to Christmas? Or a Hostess cupcake thing?
