travel plan

We are flying into Salt Lake on a Friday and will be checking into a resort in Park City for Sat, Sun and Monday. On Tues, we plan to take off and go National Park exploring for Tues - Friday. From Park City should be go to Arches first, then Bryce, then Zion and then home...? Does this make sense or it is too much. We will leave very early on Tues. Morning so should be at our first destination around 10 or so...We need to book hotels in where makes sense for these days and then hope to be back at our resort for Friday night to check out on Sat. and fly home...Any thoughts.

You have three nights which gives you two partial days and two full days. You could go to Moab to visit Arches and Canyonlands. You need a full day for each park. Or, you can drive to Springdale, Utah, stay two nights to visit Zion and then have a night at Bryce before returning home. Where you go will probably depend on where you can get hotel reservations. Since Moab has a larger inventory of hotels, you are more likely to get a hotel room.

Welcome to the forum. One key question is time of year?

From your brief outline it appears you have three nights then depart. That's enough time to go to Moab, that's about it. Zion is a lot further and I would scratch it off. You'll also have more trouble finding a room. But Moab offers you the ability to get two parks from one base. You'll have no shortage of things to do. Try to add additional stops and you'll dilute your entire trip.

Have fun.

Both Zions and Moab are about 4 hrs drive time from SLC (depending on traffic).

But it is about a 7 hr drive time between Zions and Moab.

I'd want absolute bare minimum a day and a half in the Moab area, 1/2 day at Bryce and 1 day at Zions. That gives you a half day for travel, which isn't enough.

Making plans for 3 middle nights of our 11 night trip from Las Vegas to SLC starting end of Aug. During this time we want to go to Bryce, Escalante and Capital Reef. We like to avoid staying only one night at each lodging. Is there a good central location where we can visit all 3 sites? Or should we break it up? After these 3 nights we head to Moab.

Thank you,

Janice, the easy answer to your question is no. There is no central location for lodging for those three areas.
