White son and I will be passing through Salt Lake City next week and want to stop and see the lake itself. What are some of the sites that are worth seeing for first-time visitors?
August 4 is their Spider Fest. I think it is a case of if you can't fight them, join them. This time of year expect Spiders, big and black. They aren't black widow, though. Just warning you.
Another good place to visit is Golden Spike National Historic site, where in 1869 the railroads from east and west were joined. The turn off is north of that for Antelope Island.
If you are interested in planes the Hill Air Force Base has a nice museum just off the freeway. https://www.aerospaceutah.org just an exit or two south of that for Antelope Island.
Go to Antelope.
See the Lake.
Float in lake. (bugs will move, bring FLIP FLOPS!)
Do a hike.
Great 3/4 day trip
You Asian son will be be joining you ?
No, we aren't Asian.
But our adult son will be with us.
