It will be opened back up soon, this won't be permanent.

Wow, Mother Nature can be a real b - - , well, you know. I wonder if people were stuck on the trail above the rockfall.

I heard about this and it's horrible. I have a planned vacay in October- main focus was to hike Angels Landing. I hope it will be open by then? Anyone have ANY idea?

There is no projected date for the access to Angel's Landing to be open. You can monitor the status on the official park website.

Okay...I wonder can some of you Zion DEs make a couple suggestions as to alternative trails/hikes that might give a comparable or similar "wow factor" experience? Not sure if we'll have another chance to get back there.

I know there are dozens of beautiful alternatives, but any sort of favorites that you'd suggest? Even if they're not inside ZNP boundaries...as long as is in general area.

Thanks.

Observation Point has the views from the top.

Hidden Canyon has a little bit of edgy trail to negotiate and is a great little side canyon.

Sylvia, that is not the case. Nothing that has been reported from the park gives that impression. But I wouldn't expect it to open soon.

It's so sad... it was supposed to be the highliht of our trip.

Any suggestions outside Zion? I hate to take shuttles anyway so I just wont go to zion since the trails we wanted to do are all closed.
