We are 3 Australian adults that would like to see a baseball game whilst travelling from New York to Dallas via Dutch Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.

We are not committed to be in any single place, just wishing to drive and enjoy the country (preferably off the beaten track)

We are planning to be in the area from approx 13th May 2013 to approx 30th May 2013. Any suggestions as to where we can catch a game (AAA is OK)

Wow ... that's a lot of miles. Not sure of the schedules, you'll have to check the various teams sites. I'm from Pennsylvania, so I'll give you some teams in the Northeast on your path. Others can perhaps add those which would be along your route (knowing your exact route would help as well).

For major league you've obviously got the NYC teams (Yankees and the Mets). Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles. Washington Nationals all along your likely path.

Since you posted in the Pennsylvania forum, I'll also suggest a couple of local teams which sound like they'd definitely be near your likely path.

Harrisburg has the Senators, a AA minor league team.

The Lancaster Barnstormers are a AAA team right in Lancaster City (the heart of Amish/Dutch country) which might be convenient for your travels. York also has the Revolution which is just a few more miles west. Tickets to these are relatively inexpensive and easy to get -- with plenty usually available for walkup purchase on the day of the game.

The Lancaster Barnstormers and York Revolution are independent league teams. They are usually made up of players who weren't good enough to be drafted by major league teams. It might not be the caliber of ball you want to see.

In the vicinity of your route depending on how you go:

Major League:

New York Yankees, New York Mets

Philadelphia Phillies

Baltimore Orioles

Washington Nationals

Atlanta Braves

Texas Rangers

Lehigh Valley Ironpigs (Allentown, PA) - not far from PA Dutch area of PA

Norfolk Tides (Norfolk, VA)

Gwinnett Braves (Lawrenceville, GA - near Atlanta, GA)

Durham Bulls (Durham, NC)

Charlotte Knights (Charlotte, NC)

Nashville Sounds (Nashville, TN)

Memphis Redbirds (Memphis, TN)

Reading Phillies (Reading, PA) not far from PA Dutch area of PA

Bowie Baysox (Bowie, MD; east of washington, DC)

Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs are good AAA team. The stadium is fabulous, the games are fun and the food is delish and reasonably-priced. And tickets start at $7!

Have a great trip!
