The only access to Havasu Falls is by a 10 mile hike down and a 10 mile hike back up and an overnight stay at the bottom. It is not a day trip by any stretch of the imagination. You must have a permit. The permits for this year were gone last February.

Besides the fact that you very likely cannot get a permit, the tribe does not allow day trips.

Just to further reinforce what Connie says - the Havasupai expressly prohibit day trips.. The closest hotel is over an hour away from the trailhead.

There's one place to stay at the north rim. That's the lodge inside the park. However, it books up a year in advance. There are a couple of options at Jacob Lake AZ, 35 miles from the north rim.

Plan to visit the Grand Canyon National Park south rim. That’s where you can still find lodging and access.
