Spa in Budapest

Can anyone recommend which is the best spa to visit. We will be there in December so not sure if weather is an issue. Gellert or Szecheny? And how many hours should one plan to stay at the spa. Many thanks

IMO the thing that makes the Szechenyi so attractive is the three outdoor pools two of which have fountains and whirlpools and jets of water coming from the bottoms. But in December there will only be one, heated outdoor pool at both of your choices so it's a choice based on the indoors of each. With that I'd do the Gellert spa. The pools are nice but the design of the rooms they are in are more interesting, and it's easy to go into the steam room for a while and back to a pool.

We spend between 90 and 120 minutes inside when we go to a spa without doing anything special - massages, for example. And if you go to the Gellert there's a great bar to the right of the hotel's lobby for afterwards.
