no meat

Greeting Prague city team.

Looking for your local specialities , suggestions and options for restaurants /cafes as non- meat eating visitor staying in Prague 1 area . Also not a dessert fan so all the amazing sweets will not excite the palate.

Yes only to cheese , eggs and seafood hope it will not it be difficult to find places and menus that work . TA Prague seems a wee heavy of meat.

I asked this same question since we will be visiting Prague soon.

Two of the recommended restaurants were Clear Head and Maitrea.

I was told to make reservations in advance as they can book up.

When are you traveling?

We will be going in early August and I will post reviews after we've tried these places.

We enjoyed a lunch at Maitrea(it's a vegetarian restaurant) and i can recommend it.It's no difficult at all.I'm a vegetarian and i had no problem. The vast majority of restaurants had at least 2-3 veg. options. You said you can eat seafood and this makes things even easier.I'm sure you'll enjoy Prague.A couple more recommendations:

Maitrea +1

Czech Republic is landlocked so generally any noteworthy seafood is gonna bit on the pricey side...you can search the board for restaurants offering fresh fish....simply use the search box above and use keywords

from the list Maly Buda +1

info here as well

you can cross reference restaurants and reviews on TA

enjoy your visit

I realise it doesn't come under the heading of local food, but whenever we go to Prague we really enjoy the vegetarian Indian food at Beas. it's a small chain of 4 self-service restaurants, where you can eat in or takeaway.

As Czechs can be slightly spicephobic, it's not overly hot on the spice front - so shouldn't frighten anyone off. Even as carnivores, the food is so good that we don't notice the absence of meat
