"Best" is subjective. The pool at Rolling Surf is not very toddler friendly, but their views are great and they are close to the excellent Ocean pool at Kings Beach.

Rumba Resort has a good pool and lovely rooms and is across the road from Bulcock beach.

Both are walking distance to a lovely playground.

There is the Oaks Oasis but I don't like it's location as much as the other two.

Cheers.

Rolling Surf is adjacent to the ocean surf beach at Kings Beach. My extended family use it as their go-to place and have done so with their three kids as they have grown up. But I'm not sure it has the shallow kind of splash pool you might have in mind for your toddler.

Bulcock Beach is what we used to call the "quiet water" - a stretch of beach inside the bar which forms the outlet for Pumicestone Passage to the ocean. You need to keep an eye on kids swimming there - the current can be pretty swift as the tide runs out. But it is a good beach and there is plenty of grass on the flat area above the beach.

Hi

You could also look at Golden Beach which has a good variety of well-priced apartment accommodation. Have a look at Gemini, Riviere and Moorings Resorts. Quieter than Caloundra itself but has a group of good cafes and shops. A short walk to the Power Boat Club which is on the water and very family friendly.

The advantage of that area is that the waters of Pumicestone Passage are calm and very good for children.

There are buses into Caloundra itself, but you would have more flexibility with a car.

Hopefully this will give you some further food for thought.
