Myki card required?

Hi all! We plan to travel to Frankston from Southern Cross Stn. Is a Myki card essential or can we just buy a paper ticket at the station? Thanks!

For all public transport within Melbourne (except the free tram zone), you must purchase a Myki and load it with money before you travel.

You need a myki card for all travel in Melbourne except the free tram zone.

Myki card costs $6 to buy then load with money to travel.

No paper tickets available anymore

Is this Myki card returnable?.

We are also planning to travel to Melbourne for 4 days. But after that, we will not require this.

You can return it if you like, at the PTV hub at Southern Cross Station. You will not receive a refund for the cost of the card, only on the balance over $5.00
