Hi Cali,
There isn't a ferry that goes to Bondi, you might be thinking of Manly. Bondi is easily reached by bus (either the 380 or 381) from the city or an easy 3 stops on the train to Bondi Junction. If you are then wanting to go to Bondi beach you would need to continue on by bus.
I get a TravelPass when in Sydney (the Sydney Pass includes admission to various attractions but I reckon it's a rip off). The TravelPass is available as a 3,5 and/or 7 day pass. They come in different "colours" -and therefore prices- depending on the zone you wish to travel to. e.g there's green zone, yellow, purple etc etc all different prices. You can buy them to incl. return airport train link which is very good value.
Purchase them at the airports train station.

To get to Bondi beach I would catch the AirportLink to Hyde Park (that's Museum Station) and then catch the 333 Pre-Paid bus to Bondi beach. You insert your ticket into the machine in the bus near the door...no fiddling with change. These 333 buses are often not as crowded as others and they are always air-conditioned too.
NB: Museum Station has no escalators or lifts so be prepared to hoist your luggage up stairs.

I should have said that the Airport return ticket will be given as a separate ticket but the price will work out cheaper than purchasing separately. Most recently when I did this (December) a 7 day (green) TravelPass incl. airport return was AUD$117 for TWO people total.
Sorry if it didnt make sense forst time around ;-P
The gals and guys at the airport station are *generally* pretty helpful...they'll probably work out the best thing for you if you half an idea about what you want!
