Sat evening/Sunday morning boats back to Jakarta??

I want to go to one of the islands this weekend (preferably Putri or somewhere around that distance from Jakarta to escape the trash without being too far!) but I need to leave either Saturday evening or Sunday morning and can't find ANY boats that leave after 3pm Saturday or before 2pm Sunday.

Can anyone help advise if they know of any later boats on Saturday or morning boats on Sunday?? From any of the islands!!

Also any recommendations on islands to visit at the same time would be great :)

Hello Chloe S, and welcome to TA forums!

GENERAL IDEA:

do not even LOOK that way.................

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1/ If you seek a decent resort with comfortable accommodation and facilities you better stay at home. All islands right now are in appalling condition, they frequently changed owners during recent years and none of the new hosts payed attention to renovate or at least support a proper maintenance of island facilities.

2/ Only 3 islands HAD ( in past) swimming pool (Bira, Pantara, Putri). Swimming in the sea on Bidadari, Ayer and the closest ones NOT available - too close to city sewage waters.

3/ Overall as places to rest - Matahari (no pool) and Pantara were the better options, but still far PAST the days of glory. All I tell about general situation is true for them too.

4/ And all islands are HUGELY< HUGELY overpriced, owners are trying to squeeze the last possible penny from the guests until total collapse of their property. The question was so many times raised and mused in local press.... with no result actually.

5/ So if you are adventurous enough and do not care to pay a quadruple sum for ZERO comfort.... the decision is yours.

6/ For newer option, try Pulau macan Eco Village www.pulaumacan.com, but it`s still HUGELY overpriced and overcrowded during weekends.

7/ All boat to Pulau seribu depart in the morning from Marina as all islands offer day trip with return to JKT after lunch. Departures in the afternoon are not available.

6/ You might be better off looking for a keenly priced (promo) flight to either Bali or Lombok, leave on Friday night and come back Sunday night or Monday morning.
