Please write in English.

There is no railway station at Vilamoura - the nearest is called Loule, which is about 5 miles away. There are no buses, so a taxi would be needed.

There are five trains a day from Loule to Lisbon taking about 4 hours - you can get times and fares from the Portuguese Railway website at www.cp.pt and in English if you click on the little icon next to where it says 'Acesso Rapido'. Reservations are required for all journeys.

There are also direct long-distance buses (coaches) from Vilamoura to Lisbon, taking about the same time as the train and costing a little less. The relevant websites are www.rede-expressos.pt and www.renex.pt however these sites are in Portuguese only. Reservations are also necessary for these coaches and there is an office in Vilamoura at the Aldeia do Mar where you can do this or you can reserve on line.

Hope that helps.

Hi 1967

We did the train journey from Loule to Lisbon in January stayed for a couple of days.We were staying in Quartiera near Villamoura it cost about 8/9 euros each way in a taxi just watch the taxi drivers don't try to over charge some do.Its a nice way to travel. We went first class i think it was about 75/80 Euros for the two of us return very cheap when you think how far you are traveling although the standard class carriages are very good aswell thogh we did spend most of the journey in the bar coming back.We bought our tickets when we got to the station in Loule. Was going to buy them on the internet, but they were asking for our passport details did'nt fancey doing that along with credit card details too, not with all the fraud that goes on these days.Hope this helps.Im sure you will enjoy the trip.

Ta Keith.
