Thomas Cresap's descendants erected a marker for him in Skipton, England. Where in town is it located?
I confess to never having heard of him, but there's local Skipton info about him here, including a plaque which seems to be in the local museum -
You could also contact Malcolm Hanson (details in link above) as he seems to know all about Cresap.
Here's a picture of the plaque.
Thank you. I am a descendant of his in the U.S. and I am hoping to visit Skipton hopefully in the next year or so and was wondering where to look for his marker. This gave me an idea of where to look. I appreciate it.
Hi yo can find his bronze marker in the craven museum in Skipton town hall, and the place where he lived is on coach street, a small garden just past the canal bridge unfortunately it is not marked as such, it is tiny, but is called Cresap gardens.
