Stagecoach South West is making changes to a number of its bus services in and around Torbay, to come into effect from Sunday 29th May.
Route 12 (Newton Abbot - Torquay - Paignton - Brixham) will have a new timetable, to take advantage of faster journey times following the opening of the South Devon Highway and changes to the one-way system in Torre.
New routes 13/13B (Brixham - Marldon - The Willows - Newton Abbot) will replace the existing routes 13 and 66/66B. Buses will run approximately hourly, alternately as route 13 via Paignton Estates or as 13B via Totnes. On school and college days some journeys will operate as 13C or 13D, replacing the existing 66C/66D journeys.
Route 22 (South Devon College - Paignton - Torquay - St Marychurch) will be branded as "Hop 22" and will have a new timetable, with one bus an hour extended beyond St Marychurch to and from Maidencombe, Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. This will replace route 11 and provide a new link across Torquay as well as along the South Devon Coast, but note there will be no late evening service beyond St Marychurch - the last bus from Torquay Harbour to Dawlish Warren will depart at 19.00, returning from Dawlish Warren at 20.10.
Route 23 (Paignton - White Rock) will have a new timetable. On Mondays-Fridays between 10.00 and 16.00 buses will terminate/start at Gibson Gardens and will not operate to and from South Devon College.
Route X46 (Torquay - Exeter) will have a new timetable, to take advantage of faster journey times following the opening of the South Devon Highway and changes to the one-way system in Torre. Buses will run about every 75 minutes between Torquay and Exeter, with certain journeys extended to and from Paignton as now. There will be new late evening journeys on Fridays and Saturdays, leaving Paignton at 19.10 and 22.00 and returning from Exeter at 20.40 and 23.30.
Routes 66/66A and school/college routes 66C/66D will be incorporated into new routes 13/13B/13C/13D, see above.
Schoolday routes 27, 30 and 30A will have new timetables, and the 30/30A will be combined into a single route 30.
There are no changes to routes 17, 18/18A, 26, 31, 32, 34, 120, Fox or Gold. Also Local Link services are not changing at this time.
All the new timetables can be viewed and downloaded here: https:/…torbay-timetables
Don't forget that an all-day ticket for the Torbay area costs just £4.90 (Torbay Dayrider), with each adult ticket holder able to add up to three children age 5-15 for £1 each. These tickets are also valid as far as Totnes, Newton Abbot and Dawlish Warren. They are also issued and accepted on services operated by Local Link.
For travel further afield there is the Stagecoach Explorer (£7.70) or the multi-operator Devon Day (£8.50) - child and group tickets also available.
