April in Verbania

Can you advise on temperature and suitable clothing at this time of year. Also what are the local food specialities, must see places and suggestions for items to bring home?

For climate averages, check the web, it's more reliable than a subjective impression.

For sure the typical products include "bresaola", cheeses (also goat cheese and the "ossolano"), and a big variety of honey (acacia, millefiori, castagno etc.).

Beside that, when in Verbania I would not miss a visit to Stresa and its gardens/villas, Baveno, Arona with its rocca and the San Carlone, the Orrido di Sant'Anna in Cannobio, even Locarno and its Sacro Monte, or a trip to Orta San Giulio, but the most beautiful place to go are for sure the Borromeo Islands inside the lake!

Also a trip to the mountains would be reccomendable, what about Macugnaga and the magnificent view on Monte Rosa East Wall? May be the cableways will be still in function, in that case take a tour to Monte Moro, in a sunny day is marvelous!
