Walking the Wye Valley

A group of 4-6 are walking the Wye and we are looking for reasonably priced B&B mid-way between Ross and Hereford. We are looking around the Fownhope/Woolhope area. We are also looking for a pub meal and thinking of the Butchers Arms in Woolthorpe. B&Bs seem thin on the ground and we would welcome any recommendations.

fownhope is nearer the river (third to half mile). Woolhope is inland uphill from fownhope so you would need transport to get to the butchers arms ( which does get good food reviews). In fownhope there is the green man (pub for food- havent dined there for 5 years but was average then, does B&B). There is also the wyeleisure complex which has a restaurant and a cottage (bark cottage) that it uses for B&B. Before you get to fownhope there is a pub doing meals at hoarwithy and a B&B in brockhampton http://www.ladyridge.co.uk

The wye valley walk is lovely at all times of the year but especially april/may with all the flowers - hope you get some decent weather.
