it will be approx the same.
You might get 1.11 rather than 1.10 but unless you are exchanging huge amounts you won't notice the difference.
If you search this forum this question has been answered many many times.
If they exchange in the UK they'll be carry a lot of Euros instead.
Go into travel agents in pathos with your visa card and buy euro's then you get no charge from atm and you don't have to carry lots of cash
Hi There! Thanks for replying. I've just joined Trip Advisorsi so sorry for the boring repeat question! Thanks for answering though. I suppose I'll buy some now and get more once I'm there. Spread the risk! Cheers!
Generally the advice is to just use an ATM , the difference in the exchange rate is minimal..
Thank you MallyS! You're probably right. I'll take cash for the first few days then ATM or bureau de change thereafter. Looking forward to getting away!
If using ATM it's advisable to take out reasonably large amounts at a time. There is often a fixed charge plus a % from the bank. The fixed charge is the same whether you take out 20 or 200 so obviously the impact is less on the higher amount.
Or.....better still, if the ATM makes a charge of any sort, don't use it.
