Athens organizes quite a feast during these days!!

Music scenes in the streets, bazaars, iceskating (really the put an ice-skating rink at a square!) everything beautifully lighted!! You can check last year's events site. It's http://www.christmasinathens.gr/ and it is organized by the Municipality of Athens.

On New Year's Eve almost evert bar, club and hotel have wild parties!

And ofcourse you'll find coffee shops, little restaurants and hotels serving special breakfast for the first morning of the year!!

New Year's Eve in Athens is fun! We usually party all night and go home at about 7-8 am (after having breakfast in a hotel/cafe in order to avoid hangover!)

Just make sure to book early...

One more tip: on New Year's Eve avoid getting from one place to another after midnight. From 12-1.30 am there is a huge traffic all over Athens! It's also very difficult to find a taxi during these hours (you can easily find a taxi after 2.30-3.00 am)

I recommend booking a table at about 10.30 p.m. in a so called "bar-restaurant" so that you can combine dinner, drinks and dance in the same place!
