where to stay in Lisbon?


am goin with my wife to lisbon in july. its first time i visit. so what is best area i can stay in that i can do everything by walking and near to metro to so i can go to cascais and sintra (not hiring a car).

am searching for area that be resentments and cafe nice place to walk and near to action. any recommendation ?

place that usually tourist go for it busy and life with nice views :)

I would say you probably want to stay in the center, either Chiado or in the Rossio area. There is lots to do within walking distance, and good connections to the train station at either Rossio or Cais do Sodre (to get to Estoril.) If money is no object, then I would suggest the Hotel do Chiado: http://www.hoteldochiado.com/

at least we could tell BaherJaberi where they shouldnot stay: in the cheap hotels in the suburbs.

in other words: the closer you come to the river Tejo, the better the area is for tourists who don't want to commute. I'd also consider Lapa, Santos, Madragoa, (Alcantara) -

check for apartments which can be much nicer than hotels

I would recommend:

- Chiado 16;

- Casa Balthazar;

- The Lisbonaire Apartments;

- Lisbon Short Stay Apartment;

- Browns Downtown.
