Brussels Airport to Bruges transfers

My apologies Forum folk for an often repeated question however I have read so many opinions and old posts regarding the matter that I am not quite clear on the best route/option...

We are a group of 4 travelling to Bruges from Brussels Zaventem airport on Saturday 03 March at circa 14.00 hrs.

Perhaps someone can offer the most up to date info?

Is there a fast direct train? What is the easiest/quickest route?

Secondly, is über an option? Or alternative car services?

I would appreciate if anyone can assist.

Many thanks

There has been no change as regards trains (except that the slowest, weekend, one has disappeared), so there are still direct trains from Brussels Airport to Brugge, all of which take 1h30 even on Saturdays (when they depart at 58 mins past each hour), and cost €21.40/person. The cost is the same if you change in Brussels, taking 1h39.

Nor has there been any change regarding Uber, it is still only the versions of it that use professional drivers that are legal in Belgium, but you can certainly google for Uber X, Uber Black and private transfer services yourself. There is not one that can be reliably recommended, unless it is the chauffeur-driven car services, aimed at business users, such as those you can in any case find on the airport's website https:/…limoserv

3. Re: Brussels Airport to Bruges transfers

The only thing that was putting me off booking a short break for my 50th in June was reading about having to get a train then change again at Midi

If there is a direct train that would be wonderful.

We would be arriving at Chaleroiat about 10.15 am on a Friday if we go, so would that mean we could get a direct train at 10.58 and if we got a return ticket to come back Monday would it be around €43 each?

Many thanks

The hourly through train to (& from) Brugge goes from Brussels-Airport-Zaventem (BRU) 7/7, not from Charleroi airport (CRU) which isn't directly served by train.

Flibco operate an occasional direct through coach service between Charleroi airport and Brugge.

Re #5, it's perfectly possible, as even direct trains from BRU to Brugge go through Brussels, and you can interrupt your journey at any station along the direct route (as many stations as you want, as long as you complete your journey on the date of the ticket.

Get off at Bruxelles-central, which is close to the Grand' Place: www.ilotsacre.be/site/en/default_en.htm

It doesn't have a left-luggage office but it has lockers.

Re #3 - did you not notice the title of the question, which refers to BRUSSELS Airport, not Charleroi ?! CRL has no station, so if not taking the Flibco shuttle, e.g. at 10:50 hrs (2h10: https://www.flibco.com/en/schedules), you would be taking TEC bus A to Charleroi-Sud station before taking a train via Brussels. Landing at 10:15, there is no way you could be on a train from Charleroi-Sud by 10:58 (which is in any case the time of a train from BRU..) but if you get out in time to catch the 10:53 bus, arr. 11:10, you could catch the 11:27 train, arr. Brugge 13:29.

This would cost €22 buying a SINGLE (no return available) combi ticket covering the TEC bus plus train(s) to Brugge, which you can do from either ticket machines next to the TEC bus stop or online from http://www.belgianrail.be/en/Default.aspx (choosing as departure point "Charleroi South Airport"; if you choose "Charleroi-Sud" you will just get the train ticket, for €21.90, and then pay €6 separately for the bus).

Yes, you seem to even be confused between Brussels and Bruges.

Anyway the cheapest way from Brussels Airport-Zaventem to Brugge is by train.

Thank you for all of your replies! What station would I get off of from Brussels Airport if I am staying at Duke's Palace?

"What station would I get off of from Brussels Airport if I am staying at Duke's Palace?"

As this would be the Dukes' Palace Hotel in BRUGGE - obviously you would get off in "Brugge"! There is only one station in Brugge on the line in question, which you would reach about 1h30 after departure from BRU, if this would be on a weekday, when there are direct hourly trains (final destination Knokke) from BRU. In between the stations "Brussels Airport - Zaventem" and "Brugge", these trains stop at Brussels-Nord, Brussels-Central, Brussels-Midi, Gent St. Pieters and Aalter.

As you can see from your hotel's website, it is located 2 km from Brugge station: http://www.hoteldukespalace.com/en/location - so you may want to continue from the station by taxi (or one of the buses - #4 from Stand 1 or #2 from stand 2 outside the station, that will stop in Markt, a couple of blocks from your hotel: https://www.delijn.be/nl/perronindeling/perron/Brugge%20Station).
