90% chance of rain Sunday.. Activity ideas?

Arriving in Brussels this Sunday at 6am, staying at the Radisson Blu. Had no real set plans.. We wanted to visit the Grand-Palace and MIni-Europe. Any suggestions?

We don't have a Grand PALACE, only a Grand' PLACE (and a Royal Palace - or two). Museums are open on Sundays (there are 4 or 5 of them around Place Royale, which you could reach by bus 38 from the rue du Fossé aux Herbes next to the Monnaie Centre, just beyond Place de la Monnaie as you walk from your hotel towards Place De Brouckère), and there are shops and cafés in the Galeries St. Hubert, entrance on rue du Marché aux Herbes near the Grand' Place - or from the opposite side, which is closer to your hotel.

Mini-Europe would be miserable in the rain and the atomium not worth it, but the Grand' Place is still worth a look - especially when the cafés etc. have their lights on - and maybe a visit to the brewing museum there. You can see the Mannekin Pis' hundreds of outfits in the Maison du Roy opposite the Town Hall, and sample the best waffles in Brussels at Dandoy, one block from the GP opposite the entrance to the Amigo Hotel (which is behind the Town Hall).

Also not far from the GP, on rue du Lombard (near corner with rue du Midi), Planète Chocolat does chocolate-making demonstrations that individuals can attend at 16:00 hrs on Sat and Sun, see planetechocolat.be/planete_contacts_uk.html

If it is not raining so much as to prevent you visiting the antiques market and chocolate etc. shops in the Sablon, the Comic Strip Café (on the same side as Wittamer, nearer the chocolate than the pastry shop) fronts a whole rabbit warren of comic-strip related little shops that you can explore if it starts to rain hard. As you won't want to sit out at any of the café terraces in the rain, there is a nice café above Wittamer (separate door to the right of the pastry shop). Bus 95 stops just a little way down from there and will take you back to a stop near Bourse.

Many thanks for your reply! We were just a walk away from Grand Place and had the amazing waffles at Dandoy. We attempted to join the Planete Chocolat demo but were told they changed the time to an hour earlier.
