Hi,

In general we advice people to stay in the center. Best to stay within the Canal Belt or close to Leidseplein / Museum Area.

The Golden Tulip West get's good reviews but no regular here would advice you to stay in this area. People who have stayed in the center will tell you to stay in the center, not near a dull office area.

Normally we can help you find a good located hotel without having to need to use public transport to get to and from your hotel.

Hotel rates in Amsterdam can swing from $$ tonight to $$$$$ tomorrow. Therefore best would be if you give us your exact dates and a budget per night so that we can make suggestions.

We often see high prices for family rooms, sometimes it's better to book two double rooms for less money. Let us know if you prefer one family room or two doubles.

If you give your dates we can tell you what those two double rooms would cost you in a 4 star well, located in the center .

Depending on dates that could be a cheaper option and a lot more room than a triple or quad or family room in a 2 or 3 star.

At least you would have a better idea of options.

Unless the start of July means July 1 you have not given dates. You have given a month.

We can help you. We can maybe even help you save a small fortune. But you are going to need to help us do this.

Exact dates of stay if you want our money saving help?

And that 850 pound budget I assume is spread over how many nights you are staying as far as hotel?

Without exact dates we can still give you hotel help------Marriott, American, Park Hotel, Pulitzer, Kras-----all of those and a 100 more would work. Maybe 200 more.

But we can't give you the money saving help without those dates.

Staying that long, have you considered booking a flat? With that budget you could get one in the center with ALL the amenities and in general will be far less expensive than a hotel. You can also save money by having snacks and drinks available and even cooking light meals or doing a pick up meal. Better to come home to at the end of a day or to pop into during the afternoon than to lounge around in a single room. Don't know the reaction of the Mrs., but with a washer/dryer you can get away with packing far less clothes.

If interested or you have questions, just say so. In the meantime you might want to look this over:
