I've been checking 9292 and www.ns.nl and am really confused. Hope someone can help.
9292 recommends this:
Metro Station Zuid, Amsterdam .
then take Metro number 51 to Metro Station Amstel ,Amsterdam.
Then 4 minute ,300m, walk to Amsterdam Amstel( is this a Station or Metro Station?)
and from here another 8 minute walk to Hotel Casa 400.
(Any difference between the terms Station and Metro station)
www.ns.nl recommends this:
From Schiphol airport by intercity to either Amsterdam Centraal Station or to Duivendrecht, depending on what time you take the train,
then change to Sprinter NS or intercity NS or intercity direct to Amsterdam Amstel.
2. Is Amstel, Amsterdam the same as Amsterdam Amstel.
It seems not to me, as according to Google Maps, it's a 2.6 km 33 minute walk from Amstel,Amsterdam to Casa 400 but if you type in Amsterdam Amstel, it's a 8 minute, 650 m walk. Location wise the two Amstels look apart.
3. Looking at Google Maps, it seems the 9292 recommendation is a more direct , from airport to Zuid to Amstel, Amsterdam, no backtracking.
However I have to walk from Amstel, Amsterdam to Amsterdam Amstel.
Is'nt that confusing ?
The www.ns.nl recommendaion however brings me to Amsterdam Amstel, saving me this walk.
Also what is intercity direct or NS and do the trains have numbers and how to
differentiate metro from trains?
Thanks to you kind souls
