Can anyone advise what streets or areas of Amsterdam sell hip and trendy streetwear (menswear)?
Maybe Haarlemmerdijk / Haarlemmerstraat
9 Streets (9 Straatjes), http://www.de9straatjes.nl/en/home
The shop called Weekdays, on Rokin, go upstairs
More mainstream: Leidsestraat
Very very mainstream: Kalverstraat, Nieuwendijk

Magna Plaza is a very high end shopping mall across the street from the New Kirk at Dam Square. I have visited several times but the prices are higher than an over-smoked stoner in a coffee shop. IMO. Designer stuff.
I do love to shop in A'dam, I deliberately leave plenty of room in my luggage to pick up a few things. For me, I am drawn to the pedestrian long Kalverstraat Neiuwenijk where I am thrilled to score €6 blue suede pumps, €8 handbag, and €20 boots. Even though I am senior I do shop at H&M for inexpensive staples and accessories.

I like the "vintage" stores.
Yes, there are some fab vintage shops as well, my favorite is at the north end of the Waterlooplein flea market on the corner. Great spot for another hat when my ears are numb from cold wind.
Sunny, I think you mean Episode. They have a shop there on the corner of Waterlooplein and another one in Nieuwe Spiegelstraat 61 in the "9 Straatjes".
I also like Petticoat on Lindengracht.
Thanks Cecile !
I will look for the 9 Streets location on my next visit for sure and will also check out Petticoat, what a cute name!
@Sunny, if you're ever here on a Monday, check out the Noordermarkt in the morning (about 8am - 1pm). Various stalls selling vintage clothes.
And as for hats, on Saturday you will find a hat / cap maker on Noordermarkt (perhaps on Monday too). Like men's hats and floppy vintage caps from Dickens' time.
Many thanks Cecile ! and
Have a fab Weekend !
Stores added to bucket list.
