The last time I was in Europe, not many Europeans wore jeans. Are they appropriate attire for touring the gardens, Floriade and Keukenhof?
when was that? 1953?...yes, jeans very prevalent..jeans are ok...all i ever bring
Jeans and wooden shoes are what we wearEdited: 03 April 2012, 01:27
I suggest two pairs. One you keep clean and pressed in your bag.
Never know when you might run into a formal occasion and want to dress up.
Actually this is real advice and not tongue in cheek advice.
Thanks for the info. I can't wait to see those guys in their jeans and wooden shoes.
you laugh...but ive seen old timers in little towns wearing the klompens
Yes, jeans and VERY comfortable rubber-bottom-soled shoes. Take a pass on those wooden shoes "suggested" by Ger-Holland. Lots of walking on surfaces that are rarely even and smooth. 2 pair of jeans would be great. A dark pair would easily work at night. And if you land on your bum trying to dodge a determined bicyclist, the street dirt will show less.
Jeans can take you anywhere I've seen other than maybe a chic Michelin *** restaurant. Or the casino. And even then, bring $$$ and I think you can get in anywhere here in jeans and a jacket.
Better yet, buy a pair of Dutch jeans at G-Star PC Hooftstraat.
