Side trip on the way from Amsterdam to The Hague

I was hoping to stop by Lisse and catch the end of the tulips or at least some flowers....trave.ing June 8 it's been very warm here so spring flowers are done and that park is closed. Does anyone have any suggestions for a side trip on our way from Amsterdam to The Hague?

Ps Amsterdam was wonderful but our poor feet are tired

Adding to the above great suggestions, just a few mins tram ride from central Den Hague to Scheveiningen to the beach area where there is a kind of boardwalk lined with restaurants, especially seafood.

Haarlem train station is an Art Nouveau masterpiece.

Leiden has a fabulous museum with a hoard of Egyptian antiquities.

Tulips were done a month ago. Has nothing to do with the warm weather.
