Keukenhof idle Combo pack options

Hello,

We are family of 2 adults and 2 kids (3 & 5 yrs old)

We stay near Zuid-Holland in Rotterdam. Would like to plan travel mode/ticket to Keukenhof in the first half and evening would like to cover Leiden and return back to Zuid-Holland, Rotterdam.

https:/…

As per above link, noticed there are some combo pack for Keukenhof with Bus+Entrance (or) Train+Bus+Entrance,

Option 1:

Keukenhof entrance:

For adults - €16

For children (4-11) - €8

Manage own transport by train & bus/tram.

Option 2: You travel from Leiden Central Station (Keukenhof Express bus no. 854)

Adults: € 24.00

Children 4 - 11 years old: € 12.50

Children < 3 years: free

Question : Is the above price is for one way only? returning do we need to manage on our own? doesnt sound to be cheaper option.

Option 3 : Combi Ticket train + bus + Keukenhof entrance

Adults: 35 euros (2nd class), 40 euros (1st class)

Children aged 4 - 12: 15 euros

Children aged 0 - 3: free

The Combi Ticket train + bus + Keukenhof ticket allows you to travel by train from any station in the Netherlands to Schiphol Plaza or Leiden Centraal station where you can board the Keukenhof Express (Bus Line 858 or 854). You can also travel to Haarlem and then transfer to Bus Line 50 to Keukenhof.

Question : Again here Is the above price is for one way only? returning do we need to manage on our own? doesnt sound to be cheaper option.

Option 4 : Combi Ticket Day Ticket transport + Keukenhof ticket

There are two types of Combi Tickets Day Ticket transport + Keukenhof ticket:

1. Keukenhof ticket + day ticket for all bus, tram and metro companies in the Province of Zuid-Holland, including Bus Line 854 (valid with Arriva, Connexxion, HTM, RET, Veolia, Waterbus and Syntus) + day ticket for the train journey between Den Haag Centraal [The Hague] station and Leiden Centraal station.

Adults: 32 euros

Children aged 4 - 11: 21.50 euros

Children aged 0 - 3: free

2. Keukenhof ticket + day ticket for all train, bus, tram and metro companies in the Province of Noord-Holland including Amsterdam (valid with NS, GVB, Connexxion, EBS and Arriva (Bus Lines 858, 854 and 50).

Adults: 32 euros

Children aged 4 - 11: 24.50 euros

Children aged 0 - 3: free

Question : With the above two option are we allowed to travel in same route only? As we need to travel from Zuid-Holland to Rotterdam central station and then to Leidan centraal station and take bus to Keukenhof while returning want to come back to Leidan and go around the main places locally (can we use local bus/metro/tram with the provided ticket?) or do we need to buy separate ticket for local Leiden site seeing? and finally return back to Rotterdam central station and back to Zuid-Holland.

Noticed above combo ticket for child may not be worth as entrance is only €8 and with rail runner of €2.5 train can be covered only need to play for bus to keukenhof and return to Leiden and local site seeing in Leiden.

Please let us know which is the cheapest option we can choose for entire family.

thanks

Hi there,

All combo tickets are for train and bus _returns. For you to do the maths. Option 4 Zuid-Holland has free buses inside Leiden too.

All the best,

2. Re: Keukenhof idle Combo pack options

Thanks.

Hope you are referring to option 4 (1st type)

However in above we dont have train ticket from Rotterdam centraal to Leiden centraal?? what about local bus/tram in Leiden is that covered?

What about in below type 2, also can we local buses in Zuid-Holland as well as in Leiden?

2. Keukenhof ticket + day ticket for all train, bus, tram and metro companies in the Province of Noord-Holland including Amsterdam (valid with NS, GVB, Connexxion, EBS and Arriva (Bus Lines 858, 854 and 50).

thanks

3. Re: Keukenhof idle Combo pack options

Hi again,

Yes 4.1 covers all local buses in Leiden. But is not helpful if you need train, then it's option 3 but that excludes all other buses.

Nope 4.2 does not cover Leiden as Leiden is Zuid-Holland ;-)

All the best,

Hi,

What is the difference between option 3 & 4.2?

what i understood is option 3 is for one-way while option 4.2 day ticket means for return as well.

Also please clarify with option 4.2 can we use this for train from Rotterdam centraal to Leiden centraal and bus from Leiden to Keukenhof and same way for return as well?

thanks

Option 3 is train from/to any station in NL to Leiden or Schiphol. Option 4.2 is solely certain train routes in the region.

Solely option 3 covers train from/to Rotterdam, but no local buses in Leiden.

E+S
