Do churches in Lausanne ring bells all night long ?

I don’t know about Lausanne but I think, like in Wallis, they have some rules , some scheduling about when to ring the bells and even though you might hear it early in the morning I’m pretty sure its not allowed during the night

Of course not. Furthermore, there are strict cantonal regulations concerning noise in night time hours.

Bells here (Martigny) start at 0600 and end at midnight. In some places this is different - I remember in Obergesteln for example the bells rang every 15mins all night. And in some places they also ring twice on the hour - one set with the number for the hour and then a couple of minutes later another set in case you missed the count on the first one!

Lausanne has the "guet" - a crier who shouts from the cathedral. See this for more information:

If your hotel is near the cathedral you will hear the crier.
