St. Moritz Mountain Restaurants - Dress Code?

Hello - We will be visiting the Engadin area in late June and plan on doing a decent amount of hiking. We have been reading about the fantastic panoramic restaurants on some of the mountains and would like to stop in for drinks/food. However we are concerned about the dress code as we will be in hiking gear.

Any thoughts or experiences?

Thanks!

You and pretty much everyone else.

If they would even think about imposing any kind of dress code beyond "no full nakedness" they can just as well file for bancruptcy right away. (Which is also valid for any other restaurant in the country outside of Zürich and Geneva banking districts, and most of the places within those.)

Just make sure you are dressed according to the weather, it may still be cool in June or it may already be nice and warm, depending on the wind. Hiking gear is absolutely ok, you will be in hiking country after all and everybody else is dressed for the outdoors. Even in Restaurants down in the valley, during the day you go in whatever you wear. So no problem here. Enjoy your planing and your holidays in beautiful Engadin St. Moritz.

Of course if it's wet or cold outside as it can be at any time of year you will need to strip off the top layers - all totally acceptable, there will be plenty of room around the seats to put wet coats, hats and rucksacks.

Does this also apply if we stay for dinner?

Yes it does. I suppose you mean Muottas Muragl, as this is the only one open for dinner, and they have no dress code, as hikers eat there after their hike as well and are not going down to change before dinner. The only other mountain restaurant serving dinner is Diavolezza, but only for overnight guests, no cablecar down after dinner.
