Ideas for 5 to 7 days leaving Geneva.

Hi, there will be 6 adults and 1 child travelling, we will start in Geneva having arrived by train from Paris. We would like to travel on the Glacier Express, possibly staying overnight along the way to enjoy the villages/ or rather a special one. We would also like to go to Lauterbrunnen and see the sights there.

Eventually we need to be in a position to get to Venice as that is the next leg of the trip.

Any advice on trains, best directions to take, places to stay etc would be great.

Our travel dates will be approx June 1st 2012, but can be slightly flexible.

Our other alternative is to go to Venice first and then to Switzerland if that way works better.

Thanks in advance.

Kerrie

After a night or 2 in Geneva you could go to Zermatt for a couple of days then take the Glacier Express as far as Andermatt and go on to Lucerne for the last few days. From Lucerne you can connect to Milan easily and then onto Venice.

Or you could stay on the Glacier Express to St Moritz, spend a night or two there, and then take the bernina express or a local train going over the same route to Tirano. From there bus and train to Brescia and you are almost in Venice.
